because the creators of these products know that the ultimate and best way to generate a lot of traffic to their offer is by having affiliates do it for them. who knows they may or may not even use their own traffic generation secrets' to actually drive new visitors to their sites. But they know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they will get a ton of traffic, and free traffic at that, by using affiliates.
but if you're not a guru' how do you get these affiliates to promote your product? that's the million dollar question. How many times do you see a group of gurus promoting each others products and they are all making a ton of cash? all the freakin' time in fact, if you're like so many others you're probably a little tired of product launch after product launch.
